I’m thrilled to have won the Windsor Fringe Kenneth Branagh Award for New Drama Writing with my play The Space Between.
It was a privilege to share the stage with the other finalists, David Hendon and Eleanor Clare Taylor, who both wrote fantastic plays. The three finalists were selected from 289 scripts from 18 countries. Performances took place at Windsor Fringe on October 6th, 7th, and 8th.
I loved to watch as Debbie Christie (actor, below right) breathed life into Frida’s story, directed by Hellena Taylor (below, left); both women brought such heart and talent to the production.
The judges said The Space Between was “truly beautiful, evocative and thought-provoking” (Jenny Seagrove)
and “written in a very inventive and dynamic style…the presentation is quite unique but what impressed me most was the poignancy of the writing and the universal nature of its thoughts and ideas” (Andrew C Wadsworth).
I learned so much from seeing my play performed to an audience three times – different every night. I’m grateful to have received the £500 prize and I’ve grown so much as a writer. Sincere thanks to the Windsor Fringe Drama Award Team.
